Details: This 1960 road map of Italy was produced by Mobil to promote the Mobil Economy Run. This was a motor race held annually from 1936 to 1968 (pausing during World War II), to demonstrate how modern cars could best use their fuel.
Integrating the Olympic rings, the illustration also acknowledges the 1960 Summer Olympics, which were held in Rome.
